Lexie’s Ranch
Hands-On Healing Through Animals, Nature, and Purpose
Lexie’s Ranch is a therapeutic ranch program created to support individuals with autism and developmental disabilities through hands-on experiences with animals, nature, and daily routines that foster confidence, connection, and purpose.
Located in the Scottsdale area, the ranch was designed with intention — offering a peaceful, sensory-friendly environment where participants are supported as whole people, not just as diagnoses.
“This space is more than a ranch, it’s a dream realized. We’re building a place where people of all ages with autism and other developmental disabilities, like my daughter Lexie, can feel joy, safety and freedom—and where their families can find community, relief and support.”
-Andrea Robertson, Founder Lexie’s Voice
Why a Ranch?
For many individuals with autism and developmental disabilities, traditional indoor programs can feel overwhelming or limiting. Nature offers something different.
At Lexie’s Ranch, participants experience:
The calming rhythm of outdoor routines
Meaningful responsibility through animal care and daily tasks
Opportunities for social connection without pressure
A sense of belonging and contribution
Research and lived experience show that time spent with animals and in natural environments can reduce anxiety, increase emotional regulation, and support social and communication skills. At the ranch, these benefits unfold organically — at each individual’s pace.
What Happens at Lexie’s Ranch
Lexie’s Ranch is built around structured, supportive, and purposeful experiences, including:
Caring for and interacting with horses and other animals
Participating in daily ranch routines
Learning responsibility, empathy, and life skills through hands-on work
Engaging in small-group activities that encourage communication and cooperation
Spending time outdoors in a calm, welcoming setting
Each experience is guided by trained staff who understand the unique needs of individuals with autism and developmental disabilities.
Who Lexie’s Ranch Serves
Lexie’s Ranch serves individuals with autism and developmental disabilities, with a focus on adolescents and adults who benefit from:
Predictable routines
Relationship-based learning
Sensory-aware environments
Purposeful, real-world activities
The ranch complements Lexie’s Voice’s broader mission by supporting individuals while also strengthening families and caregivers through meaningful, supportive programming.
Built From Lived Experience
Lexie’s Ranch grew from the lived experience of families navigating limited options for meaningful, inclusive programming — especially as individuals transition into adulthood.
Lexie’s Voice has long believed that support should extend beyond childhood and beyond traditional systems. The ranch reflects that belief: offering dignity, opportunity, and connection in a setting where individuals are valued for who they are.
